Subject: Beachcombing
We are visiting at the end of july and are planning a family scavanger hunt. I was wondering where the best(and safest) beachcoming places were?

The fact that you did not get a reply the first time you asked was probably due to a couple of factors. I know I was puzzled by what you were seeking and others probably were too.
Do you mean looking for shells of other marine objects? Or searching for items that are previously planted?
There is no way to predict which beach would yield more shells - it all depends on tides, etc.
There are many people who read these questions and help when they can. But not every question is easily answered!

Where are you staying? Most beaches would serve your purpose.

Haven Beach but we will be all over the island sightseeing and shopping and such

My advice is to pick the closest beach to where you are staying.

Actually, if I was going to have a scavenger hunt, I would do it at Barnegat Light. Up there you have the getties, the nature preserve, and lots of beach. A lot more places to find things.
