We used to have a BK but they couldn't make their numbers off-season. You should visit the Dairy Queen in Barnegat Light for a sweet treat.

Submitted By Milli on May 22, 2011
Theres a small Taco Bell going into Bay Village

Submitted By The Answer Man on May 22, 2011
I believe that there *is* a Dairy Queen in Barnegat Light - near the lighthouse.

Oops - just noticed that I was not the first to mention the DQ! Sorry...

I'm perfectly happy keeping that junk OFF the island!!

Submitted By polly on May 23, 2011
please do not patronage a fast food chain. Lets not encourage our isalnd to look like every other town in america.

Submitted By Rick on May 23, 2011
I agree. I would hate to see the island full of fast food chains that would ruin LBI's charm. In answer to the original question, there's a Subway as soon as you come onto the island, heading south.

Submitted By The Answer Man on May 23, 2011
LBI will *never* be an island full of fast-food chains. Can't happen. Not enough business to support a year-round franchise.

Submitted By Fran Chize on May 23, 2011
I believe that Subway has closed down. And a good thing too!

Submitted By Fred on May 23, 2011
Never say Never. We have WAWA and Rita's and 7 Eleven

Submitted By The Answer Man on May 23, 2011
Yes, but they are not the subject of the thread - "Fast Food".

That would mean McDonald's, Burger King or Wendy's.

And, I still say you won't see any of those *on* LBI!

Wasn't there a Pizza Hut in the Chain Lane?

Submitted By The Answer Man on May 23, 2011
Yes, and it failed.

As did the Burger King (not in Chain Lane) and now the Subway in Ship Bottom.

Submitted By Sandyshoes on May 24, 2011
Subway was owned by a L B Twp.cop.

I have to say, and this is just my opinion, I love that LBI is not littered with fast food chains. I like trying out different restaurants when visiting the island. I can get fast food any other time of the year and would prefer to not see them scattered all across LBI while vacationing there. Just my opinion :)

Submitted By Polly on May 25, 2011
I agree with your opinion.

Submitted By Sandyshoes on May 25, 2011
I cant remember when I was at a fast food place. Ok I fibbed just a tiny bit. I have a Nathans up here on Long Island. Twice a year I do 2 dogs and fries, so good. And belly bombers once a year. I agree, when at the shore we all have are favorite places.

Submitted By Sandpiper on May 26, 2011
I agree too-just not a fan of fast food either (except NY Pizza, of course!). Just as a lot of folks here have posted/voted their favorite restaurants for fine dining, maybe some of you would like to share your favorite fast food place or where to get, say, the best burger, pizza, hot dog , or hero aka hoagie or sub sandwich etc. My vote goes to Pearl St Market for breakfast & lunch (wraps), Cool Beans for coffee, Marvels for donuts, and my favorite sandwich shop, which I think is not going to open this season, The Black Dog Cafe.:(. I've also had some good eats on the run in Fred's Diner while many a wings run has been made to the Chegg.
Tell us about your favorite fast food joint! Which one do you think kids like best?
Subway? Yecchhhhh!!!

Submitted By Dinah Roundashore on May 26, 2011
Subway Yecchhhh, is right!

Best hambergers on the island... No- ANYWHERE, is Woodies. I go to the new one in Beach Haven Terrace, but rarely get to the one in Surf City. I actually craved them during the off-season and couldn't wait for them to reopen this year. I was there the first day they re-opened a few weeks back.

Although they have dozens of different burgers with different sauces and ingredients, the best bet is to get just a plain cheeseburger (or maybe just lettuce/tomato/onion, but no more). I find that the meat tastes so good that you don't want to drown it out with competeing flavors like chipolte, horseradish, peanut butter (yes they have a peanut butter one).

Best Pizza - Bay Village
Runner up - Joeys

Best Cheesesteak: None on the island can compare to the one you get on-the-way to the island in Tabernacle, NJ at a general store called Nixons (which dates back to the 1800s - the store, not the cheesesteaks) This cheesesteak is nothing short of a religious experience!

Best Pizza - Bay Village Pizza
Best Burgers - Woodies
Best Wings - Chicken or the Egg
Best Sticky Buns - Marvels
Best Bagles - Bagles and Beyond
Best Donuts - Bagle Eddie's
Best Breakfast - Uncle Will's

I am getting hungry now!!! See you this weekend!!!!
