Subject: train travel from NYC
I heard that you can get a train to Atlantic City from NYC. Does anyone know about this? And how long of a drive is it from LBI to AC? Thanks

Driving time from LBI to AC depends very much on where you are on LBI.

Actually Tim, it takes the same time to get to LBI by car regardless of where you are going on LBI because there is only one bridge. Now I do agree it may take longer to get to your final destination, but getting to LBI is the same.

The question was how long to get to Atlantic City ‘from’ LBI. Since LBI is an island that is 18 miles long with municipalities up and down its length, the municipality from where you start is indeed relevant. Mapquest will not allow you to put in ‘LBI’ or ‘Long Beach Island’ as a start location, you have to enter one of the municipalities. So, for example, if I enter Holgate as my starting location, the travel time to AC is 1 hour 19 minutes. If I enter Ship Bottom, the travel time is 56 minutes.

It was a joke son, I say a joke!
However, you correctly noted that the question was "from LBI to AC", not "from Holgate to AC" and there is only one place to actually leave the island we call LBI to drive to AC. At the foot of the bridge!
By the way, Google does let you use Long Beach Island even if Mapquest is less forgiving. It just gives the wrong answer.
