Noller's Diner, Carl's Esso-- Beach Haven, 1957 posted on June 1, 2013
Who remembers these places (they were on the same block) and do you have any pictures? I worked at Carl's Esso the summer of '57, while living with my Grandmom in Ship Bottom.

Bay Village - in the 1960's posted on April 25, 2013
Here is an aerial photo showing 9th and Bay in the 1960's. You can see that it wasn't nearly as developed - and the Lucy Evelyn gift shop took up a lot of space!

please stop..... posted on April 18, 2013
Can people please stop using this forum to whine and moan about Sandy. We get it, there was damage to homes and businesses but that has happened to people all over the area, not just LBI. These things happen and they are not the end of the world, so please get over yourselves. LBI is not the center of the universe, and its residents and business owners are not the most beleaguered people on the planet. Sorry, just venting.....as well as speaking for a whole lot of other folks.

Small Old Yellow House On Causeway Still Standing? posted on November 30, 2012
Thought I'd ask if the two story small old yellow house on the side of the causeway as you are leaving the island is still standing? It was located just about across from where the shack once stood (still can't believe I'm saying that) and it's the one leaning far to the right and surrounded by a fence. Hope that one at least survived Sandy, and that a memorial, or a new shack can be placed/built where the old one used to be.

When I was a kid in the late 50s and early 60s, there were two millionaires' houses, on on the ocean side and one on the bay side, across from one another, just south of brant beach. Are they still there?

I remember an ice cream shop that we stopped at every year just before leaving the island. It was about the last thing on the island before getting on the causeway. The ice cream was served in square scoops. Does anyone know the name of that shop?
