Why????? posted on May 12, 2009
Why can't people be more thoughtful about their questions. I, for one, am tired of the repeats and the pointless questions. How can we control this and improve this forum?

Bus Service on LBI posted on December 29, 2008
Hi...I would like more information about that bus service that I think if you pay one price, you get to ride the bus all day? Does it ride up and down LBI all day and night long? Are there specific bus stops or do you flag the bus down? Lets say I am staying in Beach Haven and I want to shop in Ship Bottom. Is there a bus that could pick me up, take me to Ship Bottom and then get me back to where I am staying in Beach Haven? I think what I am trying to say is would I be stranded in Ship Bottom for a long period of time before the bus comes around to pick me up? Is there a schedule with this bus? I know about the Atlantic City bus. That has specific times and pick up places. Does this general bus (or is it a trolley maybe?) do the same? Any information or contact information or anybody who actually used this bus would be much appreciated. Thanks.

How has the traffic been going over the causeway on Saturday mornings? Last year was the worst that I could ever remember. Anyone experience it so far this summer? Thanks!

There seems to be alot of wanna-be locals on this site. A simple question that would pre-date GPS. What is the fastet route from BLI to the HC? Anyone that really grew up and lived the true life on our island would know the answer. The Answer Man should be of some help, since he is the GOD of this site. Or, is the AM just a geek with a metal detector that we all use to bust on.

Parkway widening plans announced
Plans to widen a 17-mile stretch of the Garden State Parkway between Toms River and the main road to Long Beach Island were announced today by acting Gov. Richard Codey and state highway officials.

Codey said construction of the $135 million project could begin as early as 2007 and be completed by 2009. Highway officials said the work is expected to cause minimal inconvenience to motorists because most of the work will be done within the parkway’s median.

causeway bridge posted on August 18, 2007
i know this has been generally discussed on this forum before but i have a specific question. at one point someone asked if the bridge would be widen during the upcoming renovations. Answer man replied - what good would it do since it has to go to two lanes anyway (or something to that effect - not a direct quote). i did notice that as you come on the island, it can support three lanes and in some parts by the cvs it is three lanes. one goes north on the island one goes south and one goes in either direction. this is honest question so please dont throw insults as is often done on this board. if my facts are wrong, just tell me. i just want to understand and explore if there is a way to reduce the causeway traffic.

Bus and Taxi posted on August 16, 2007
Hi - I'd like to take a NJT bus from Penn Station to LBI and back, but I know the closest they drop off is Rte. 9 and 72 in Manahawkin. From there, I think the only way to get onto the Island is cab or car service. Question is, has anyone done it, and how much does THAT cost? Thanks.
