What will (if anything) be happening with the (I assume now defunct) DeFiglio's Great Valu that was in Ship Bottom? I know it's for sale and are they ever returning again? Shame they got hit so bad along with LBI in general from the storm. Thank goodness though that we got our other supermarkets back at last though I'll miss De Figs with some of the pretty good and unique things they had. Hope they will somehow be back one day or that another supermarket may take their place.

Drive by this place on 72W all the time and never see more than one or two cars parked outside. Yet it has been open for years and years. How do they stay in business? Has anyone ever tried their candy or fudge? Is their some kind of interesting history to this shop?

Any news on Dom's? Been to the island several times through the winter and spring and there doesn't seem to be any signs of reopening or cleaning from Sandy.

What is the updated schedule for the reopening of Daddy O? I've seen a lot of activity there lately.

I stand corrected... Tucker's will not be torn down for condos. I called the information phone number on the banner they have displayed. The person I spoke to said he was a family member of the owner. I was told they are closed and looking for a buyer to preferably keep it a restaurant. My feeling is it will be vacant for a while - sounds like they are in no rush to sell it. (so much for my reliable source of my previous post - sorry all)

Went by there yesterday and still looks like no work started. In fact there still appears condensation in the windows? They had great pizza and I can't see now how they will be open for the summer. And what is the story with 7-11 in BH? Same thing there - they have started renovating yet either.

Does anyone know if the Maine Course will be reopening? I think it was located in Beach Haven. they had great lobster rolls.

How is Murphey's coming along? Coming down Memorial Day weekend so hope they'll be open.

Has anyone heard anything about O'Malley's in Beach Haven? When I was on the island a couple of weeks ago they were all boarded up. Thanks!

Just saw on Facebook that they are opening May 17th and they are looking for help. You can apply at the Beach Haven location or the Surf City location.

Is it true that the owners of Ship Bottom Shellfish also own the Black Whale and Mud City Crabhouse and are opening a Steak house adjacent to the Mud City location?

Murphys in Beach Haven is scheduled to open on May 15th. Saw a story on the re-build in the Sandpaper.

So I hear the Seashell motel will be open this month but what about the tiki bar??? I am worried it won't be ready for me Memorial Day weekend! Updates anyone?

I am coming down to inspect my house and also wanted to pick up some fresh seafood (uncooked). I'm un Ship Bottom and have no idea where to go or what's open. Suggestions?? TIA
